The exhibition on John Singer Sargent offers a two-part scenography, distinguishing his monumental and elegant portraits from his contemplative landscapes inspired by his travels. In the large gallery, the portraits are highlighted by orthogonal walls and framing techniques, creating theatrical depth and emphasizing the interactions between the figures. In contrast, the Chauchard gallery, with its winding path and ochre tones, invites an immersive stroll through the European landscapes painted by the artist. Transitional spaces with contextual windows enrich the experience by shedding light on key moments in his life and era, while the use of colours and light reveals the modernity and boldness of his work, offering a dynamic and rhythmic visual experience.

L’exposition sur John Singer Sargent propose une scénographie en deux temps, distinguant ses portraits monumentaux et élégants de ses paysages contemplatifs inspirés par ses voyages. Dans la grande galerie, les portraits sont mis en valeur par des cimaises orthogonales et des jeux de cadrage, offrant une profondeur théâtrale et soulignant les interactions entre les figures. En contraste, la galerie Chauchard, avec son parcours sinueux et ses teintes ocres, invite à une flânerie immersive à travers les paysages européens peints par l’artiste.
