LA BOHEME, PUCCINI

​The staging of La Bohème at the Mainfranken Theater was conceived around questions of time and memory. This four-act opera begins during the 1968 revolution in Paris and progresses by 20 years with each new act. The protagonists are then about 70 years old in the last act that takes place in 2018. This progression in staging is translated into space by a unique place that the viewer will see evolve as it is also confronted in reality. This dilapidated apartment, where is built a supermarket, which becomes ruin, to make room for a retirement home. The passage of time, the architecture that wears out, deteriorates, rots, are so many questions around the memory of the place, the memory of our lives.

La mise en scène de la Bohème au Mainfranken Theater a été imaginée autour des questions du temps et de la mémoire. Cet opéra en quatre actes débute pendant la révolution de 1968 à Paris et progresse de 20 ans à chaque nouvel acte. Les protagonistes ont alors à peu près 70 ans dans le dernier acte qui se déroule en 2018. Cette progression dans la mise en scène se traduit en espace par un lieu unique que le spectateur va voir évoluer comme il l'est aussi confronté dans la réalité. Cette appartement délabré, où se construit un supermarché, qui devient ruine, pour laisser place à une maison de retraite. Le temps qui passe, l'architecture qui s'use, se détériore, pourrit, autant de questions autour de la mémoire du lieu, la mémoire de leur vie.
