CORDELIA, OLIVIER DHENIN

Cordelia, daughter of King Lear is the center of this piece written by Olivier Dhénin. This tragedy, writing close to romanticism, insists on the relationship to the landscape: the sea, the sky, the storm, the dirt. So we imagined a scenography in which a slate floor accompanies by the noise of the footspets of the characters steping on and which evolves throughout the room, to reveal on the ground an immense canvas of the painter Turner. In the background, another Turner painting, symbolizing a stormy sky, is revealed or hidden by translucent and vaporous Japanese panels.

Cordelia, fille du roi Lear, est au centre de cette pièce écrite par Olivier Dhénin. Cette tragédie, proche du romantisme, insiste sur le rapport au paysage: la mer, le ciel, la tempête, la terre. Nous avons donc imaginé une scénographie dans laquelle un sol en ardoise accompagne le bruit des pas des personnages qui marchent et qui évolue dans toute la salle pour révéler au sol une immense toile du peintre Turner tout au long de la pièce. À l'arrière-plan, un autre tableau de Turner, symbolisant un ciel orageux, est révélé ou caché par des panneaux japonais translucides et vaporeux.
